small part missing - enormous problem

I once went to a boiler fitted 10' up with no room stat !

All the tenants could do was to turn off the rads when it got too hot!

Actually fitted by a relative of someone on this forum!

A boiler fitted at a height of 10 foot- would that be measured to the base of the boiler or the top? How were you involved in that fiasco? You travel by public transport so how did you scale 10 feet to repair the boiler or even measure the height as carrying a suitable ladder would be tad difficulty on a bus.

Tony, where would this property be located? It would only be right to print precise details like you are in a habit of stating yourself. Also, how do you know who fitted the boiler- were you there when boiler was installed?

You have said something similar in the past about someone I know but when challenged you have suddenly gone quiet. You failed to say where that installation was as I was prepared to get this person to visit site to see what you were talking about. My advice to you would be not to say things you cannot substantiate. Why not email the "guilty" party where this installation is so it can be put right.

I wonder why a clever man like yourself who does not need to praise himself as he is bright anyway, feels a need to blow his own trumpet while threading on other peoples toes and calling them muppets and similar. Loosen up, let others praise you. To say you are infallible and everybody else is a muppet is playground stuff.

Orit, that sounds the best thing to do. I will get him to show the landlord and me as well where the bypass is.
They just kept saying this is a combi boiler and that what happens when you turn the valves off. I do not know anything about boilers and I knew there has to be something there to control the whole thing.
I have spoken to two different engineers about it and none of them mentioned any bypass, they said it is normal in this situation that boiler will blow up.

I went by vehicle and the ladder was on site for my visit. I went there on behalf of the manufacturer under the warrantee.

The installer knows all about the installation as they did it and its very close to their shop and I explained the shortcomings to them.

This thread is all about the failed "O" ring!

The engineer I got was my friend's friend and came in the evening. He has got full-time job. He says that he finishes his job late and he has no time to buy it. But how come, the stupid o ring is so hard to get.

I know it looks like my fault, and it probably is, but I think that the boiler was not installed properly, I do not know why. I am going to call Ferroli and find out some details.

The agency think I have to pay for everything. I cannot see my fault here cuz I did not know. I think it is their fault cuz they have not informed me how to use it. But they keep their story and I cannot convince them. If I deduct it from my rent then they my not pay me my deposit back in the future supporting it with the boiler fault.

I cannot see anything that you have done to cause this fault.

If over 18 you have the same legal rights as any adult.

You got an engineer who clearly does not want to help, probably because he is not going to be paid ( much ). Did he not examine the installation and particularly in respect of an auto bypass which may have been required but left out of a poor quality installation.

If you are a student then that should mean that you have a good education and are probably on a degree course. In that case where did you learn to use a word "cuz" which is not a proper word? I am sure that it would have received big red rings if I had ever done that!

Tony

See I do not know all my rights as I did not know that I could hold my rent payment until the boiler is not repaired. I probably do not know other useful rights that I could support myself in front of the agency.

I think it is not even legal to wait 2-3 weeks for the boiler part. We are in the UK not in the 3rd world country. There suppose to be all parts available within 30 mins. However I found online that someone was waiting 2 weeks for the ferroli part what means it is probably possible.

Sorry this post is being highjacked. For this I apologise. I can start a new post if this is what is needed.

Tony who are we talking about here. When you say shop, where is this shop located and what boiler is it? It is only right to let the other party know and hear their side of the story. This is an open forum and as such can give the wrong impression. What can be profoundly incorrect can be taken by some as gospel so caution should be the byword otherwise it can lead to litigation for muddying someones good name. Need I say any more about what they use to do to women accused of being witches? I think the proper channel would be via Gas Safe. If you think an installation is bad or wrong, why not report to Gas Safe/ H&SE instead of stage whispering on an open forum.

Feel free to email me if it is information relating to the shop my sister in law owns. Let it be said they will not take kindly to slander and presue the matter vigourously.
