As you have written in the diagram, 1.5mm flex is only rated to 16A, so cannot be used with a 20A MCB.
Either use 2.5mm cable instead of the flex, or change the MCB to a smaller size.

What exactly are these sockets going to be used for?

OK i was going to stick the flex to the skiting board.
I will change to mcb to 16A.

They are in a bedroom so TV games console and 2 fish tanks (with a load of 5A for the both of them)

no hair dryer or any high current needing appliance.

Edit- well i suppose it isn't a ring. what would you call you.

Thanks
Jake

Its a radial.

Why not use 2.5mm² cable?

Clipping flex to skirting is rough. Use trunking.

Could do. Could stick it under the carpet or skirting.
DO NOT DO THIS. The carpet will wear on the cable, and the skirting is not a safe zone for concealed cables.

Don't really want to.

If you want flex clipped around your skirting boards, you go for it son. Nobody here's gonna stop you. Just make sure its on a 16A MCB.

Ok thank you

i will change the MCB and carry on

Thanks for the help

i would deem flex cliped to skirting boards as liable to mechanical damage, why not run some 'D' profile trunking at the top of the skirting and use 2.5mm twin and earth, leave it on a 20Amp MCB then also.

Flex?

Is there a reason why you can't do this in a more *ahem* "permanent" fashion?

Or possibly rearrange the room so the equipment is serviceable by an existing socket?

As you intend to clip flex to the skirting board regardless, why not use an extension lead as this is designed and approved for temporary set-ups such as the one you are planning?

HI

Is there an RCD for the existing socket?
If not, you will need one.

Yes there is a 80A Hager RCD.

Is there a reason why you can't do this in a more *ahem* "permanent" fashion?

The problem is i can rip up the floor broads

Or possibly rearrange the room so the equipment is serviceable by an existing socket?

Yep that can be done.

Thats what i've got all ready 3 extension lead all linked together.

change of mind i will use 2.5mm T&E and run some trunking.

Thanks
Jake
