New to this forum, so please forgive if this has been covered before. I have a Securit 700L Alarm System with remote keyboard servicing around 4 PIRs and a door contact and panic switch. I have replaced the keyboard twice and now the keypad is broken, taped up, as when I had tried to access it. The plastic lug had degraded with time and become brittle. Of course I believe I can find a replacement, however ideally I would like a Smart capable keypad, ie so I can switch off the alarms remotely. I am not sure whether I could just get a Smart Keypad, since the remote keypad is not powered from the mains. So would I need to change the keypad and the main unit in order to change it into Smart capable system? Or if I could find a nearby power source would that work? If not possible could anyone recommend a reasonably priced system preferably with a battery backup that would do the same job that would be much appreciated. I am loathed to change it, if I can manage with the original main unit. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
