New to this forum, so please forgive if this has been covered before. I have a Securit 700L Alarm System with remote keyboard servicing around 4 PIRs and a door contact and panic switch. I have replaced the keyboard twice and now the keypad is broken, taped up, as when I had tried to access it. The plastic lug had degraded with time and become brittle. Of course I believe I can find a replacement, however ideally I would like a Smart capable keypad, ie so I can switch off the alarms remotely. I am not sure whether I could just get a Smart Keypad, since the remote keypad is not powered from the mains. So would I need to change the keypad and the main unit in order to change it into Smart capable system? Or if I could find a nearby power source would that work? If not possible could anyone recommend a reasonably priced system preferably with a battery backup that would do the same job that would be much appreciated. I am loathed to change it, if I can manage with the original main unit. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

No change both …..
Options ….premier 24 plus keypad and smart com .
Not really a diy panel …but app access free

Euro 46 plus wifi XA card
Bit easier to program
App free for first year then £35 after

We offer cheaper prices for the app for pyronix.

As which panel, better to look at your current and future needs, to try and edge your bets.

Both of the above suggestions are readily available to the diyer.

As for programming that’s where people make the the most critical mistakes.

Costs are interesting.

As panel, keypad, communicator, to get it up and running and app costs, for year on year running has to be considered.

But you can’t guarantee that an app free today will be free tomorrow. So bare that in mind.

For example Texecom keypad panel and communicator can cost more than Orisec, but Orisec is only available in UK from an installer.

But then it comes down to options.

So like Pyronix Orisec have the option of a car defender/protector but Texecom don’t currently.

But programming correctly might end up costing including wiring

Hi Sparkymarka, Thanks for your reply. Is it the Texecom Premier 24 Elite you referenced?

i would look at your immediate needs and possible future needs, to save money long term. That may mean looking at a 48 instead if a 24 for example.
