Smart Socket Fits BG Storm Weatherproof?

Hi All

I have a BG Storm Weatherproof Socket. Pretty sure it's this WP22 https://www.bgelectrical.uk/uk/wiring-devices/weatherproof-storm/13a-sockets

I want to put a smart socket inside that.

It currently has this 822 https://www.bgelectrical.uk/uk/wiring-devices/800-series/13a-sockets


I tried to install one of these (822), but the faceplate does not fit inside the BG Storm socket

Genuinely have no idea what you're talking about.

I've even posted a photo of what I've got above. Which is clearly a dual gang.

And I’ve offered you the ONLY solution I’m aware of which is 1G - so fit 2 side by side

what does not fit... the overall socket is too big ie length or width or is it the depth ?

The faceplate of the BG smart socket does not seat in the front part of the Storm Weatherproof shroud. So it cannot be fitted. The faceplate of the BG smart socket is just that little bit larger than the non-smart double gang.

You've posted a picture of a 1G Storm Weatherproof Socket shroud

I already have a 2G Storm Weatherproof Socket shroud, I want to get a 2G smart socket with a faceplate that fits inside it.

See first post. I tried to fit BGs own smart socket inside the BG Storm Weatherproof Shroud. It does not fit.

BG also sell a smart socket in a Weatherproof Shroud, I might have to buy that. My guess is they've changed the shroud ever so slight to accommodate the different BG smart socket faceplate, which is pretty annoying, given how similar it all is.
