smoke alarms

what are the requirements regarding smoke alarms in a 3 bed house? does it have to be on its own circuit? can it come off the lighting circuit?

best on the lighting circuit. if its on its own, and it trips your not likely to notice. if it witht he lights and they trip, its re-set pretty quick...

thats what i thought but someone said to me that it has to go on its own circuit and if it trips the alarm will bleep???

personally, i always put smoke alarms on with lights, but you can put them on their own if you want to (it also wastes a CU slot...)
