We have flaking old snowcem-type coating on external walls (solid stone), can anyone suggest an easy way to remove it? Scraping seems as though it may work in some places, but in others it's on really solidly and would take forever to remove....it looks a mess and water is being retained behind the proprietary finish causing bubbles which shoot out jets of water when pressed and making the walls damp....

Any help or observations, much apprreciated.

Thanks,

A drill with a wire brush cup might do it..might.

How do you know its snowcem?

Thanks for your response. Sounds like it could be a lengthy job then.

I am guessing that it is snowcem or something similar, ie a rough cement like finish that appears to have been blown onto the walls some years ago.
