So about those tariffs...

On the odd occasions that Orangina doesn't chicken out, he gets told to FO

:ROFLMAO:
It'll hurt even more when those it harmed financially, begin wanting payback.

It's a mid-term gift for the Dems. Trump was counting on the tariff decision as a cling-to lifeline. Now, he'll have to use all of his crooked underhanded grift and dishonesty, to avoid a blue wave catastrophe.

I've got my popcorn ready.

Still too early to say how the tariff will affect the US economy as a whole. $287 billion collected in taxes and duties last year which is a 200% increase on the year before. That's almost an extra $200 billion for the govt to play with. Trade deficit is down, prices are up but not as much as most people expected. Trumps got a bit too erratic with the tariff levels using them as a weapon against certain countries, much like us, the EU et al have had to do with China.
If it settles down it might prove to be a good thing and no doubt we will follow.

He's talking about it now. I've only just hopped on but the strapline along the bottom of the screen says 'Trump: Will sign order imposing 10% global tariff''. Like I say only just hopped on so didn't see the context around it.

Also, 'Trump: tariff revenue refunds will have to be litigated.'

Reporter just asked why he didn't work with Congress. 'Because I don't have to' was Trumps reply.

It wasn’t approved by Congress so more mayhem. EU subsidies went through the proper processes.

I wouldn't count your chickens. It could end up costing the US that and more.

I'm not counting chickens, and to be fair, they.re not my chickens to count. It sounds like reading the analysis the main benefit if it happens will be repatriating manufacturing and creating jobs. If that works, and it's a big if, he'll be vindicated. We'll have to wait and see.

Even at this early stage of the game, I'd put more trust in him than the Labour Govt and early indications are I'd be correct to do so.
