Hi all,

My new garage will need a soakaway. The only place that it could be sited to be 2.5m from all boundaries and 5m from the house and garage would mean its about 3m away from a wooden shed.

NHBC seems to refer to soakaways being 5m away from the building foundations, which would make me think that 3m away might be ok for a shed that's just on patio slabs on hardcore base, but other websites just refer to 5m away from buildings (not mentioning the foundations).

Would those in the know consider a shed to be a building in these circumstances?

Thanks
Andy

Should be fine, the rules are required to be flexible where the site doesn't allow them to be followed exactly
