I have a pond which im burying, its a concrete box and i have drilled holes in the bottom to soakaway. I have filled with hardcore and then i will topsoil over. I assume i need to put a membrane over it to stop soil seeping through, so do i use weedblocker or is there a specific membrane i can use?

you would be better off reducing the size of the hard core as you get nearer the surface.

smack the bricks with a hammer making smaller lumps till eventually you only need a smattering of pea gravel and some sharp sand to blind it off.

then put a good covering of soil on top of this.

I have been doing this and im continuing to reduce the hardcore size. I will be turfing over the top so what is the minimum depth of soil i need to turf on, had been advised min 1 inch.
