Hello

Can somebody tell me what is the minimum distance i can have a socket next to a radiator.

Cheers Ricky

Far enough away to prevent the radiator from having any detrimental effects on any part of the electrical installation.

So is there no guide line ive checked my wiring reg book but cant find anything, i am looking at it being at least a foot to the side of the radiator

A foot away is more than enough IMO, and as already mentioned, there are no set distances in this case. Almost any distance from the side of the radiator is unlikely to cause problems, as the majority of the heat will be rising due to the convection principle that radiators work on, rather than being dispersed out the sides.
