I want to wire a 5 amp water pump fitted under my bath. Can I fit a socket or Fused spur under the bath and does it require a 30ma RCD? Should I earth the bath from the socket too?

I believe the answer to be:

NO!

Why don't you just wire it back to the CU? In theory you could take it off the lighting circuit, but that would most likely overload it.

Is the rating of this pump exactly 5 amps? How many watts and why do you want it installed?

Spinergy, why have you asked the same question in two different posts?

Both have got the same answer NO YOU CANNOT.

SOCKETS ARE BANNED FROM ANY ROOM CONTAINING A FIXED BATH OR SHOWER.

How many times does it have to be said before you believe it??
