I have a BG outdoor socket, can't see any fault, or detect a fault with an insulation tester, but seems easy option is to change socket. I wanted another socket in a plastic socket box, i.e. one which will bend slightly, not a Bakelite like material, so instead of getting just a standard socket, went for a socket with USB and a new outdoor socket, complete, so swapped the socket outside fine, and then removed old socket, and fit the USB one in that box, as not a rigid plastic.
It will not fit, not only a problem with the 4 clips, but the measurement corner to corner is too much, so the lid will not fit back box with socket fitted, all made by BG. It needs a rounded socket, with rounded corners to fit.
So no option had to use a rigid socket back box, but darn thing has no 3.5 mm screws with the socket, so had to open a FCU and pinch the screws.
That will be the last BG socket I buy.
