Evening all, Id like to add a double socket tothe chimney breast wall in the bedroom for a TV. In the loft I have lighting only , is is practical to take the mains from the lighting to a FCU then to a double socket down the wall ?

I thought a rule of thumb was to 'fuse down' therefore my gut feeling is this isnt practical however im sure I have read on here before that it is OK.

Pls can you clarify

thanks

Not really.

Some TVs have suprisingly large inrush currents which will trip a lighting MCB.

we occasionally and begrudgingly condone a single socket off the loft lights for a tv AMPLIFIER, but never a TV..
the amplifier uses less than an amp usually..
