Sockets from ceiling

Has anybody fitted a ready made product (apart from the industrial type) that will allow sockets to hang over tables, possibly on coiled flexes ?

I have made some up after searching for it but just wondered if anybody else had rigged anything up like this.

Whats it for?

Is it just for your home workshop or something?

Does it need to be retractable like a metreel is, or can it just hang there?

They can just hang there over the middle of the tables. It is for small kitchen equipment in the college I work in for students to learn cooking skills. The tables do get moved out the way so I can't fit posts/trunking/conduit.

If they hang, and someone moves the table out the way, won't people walk into them?

thought about flush floor sockets with bench power outlets (triangle things) mounted on the table wired as an extension lead? Depends on the power rating of what you're using...

do you mean something like this?

when not needed or the table below has been moved the socket outlets can be lifted out of the way by shortening the chain with a cable tie

Rs do a few smaller types, like what RF showed,but less industrial, about £100 each.
