I suspect that BAS imagined a link between your two sentences which did not exist, and which you did not intend - i.e. he probably incorrectly assumed that you were suggesting looking inside the socket to see if it were a radial circuit (which, of course, would usually not work), not to see if there were a loose connection affecting downstream sockets. Put another way, he probably rather hastily jumped to the conclusion that "he had got you" for not understanding what ring/radial circuits would look like in most sockets!Why do you think? Are you just being pedantic or do you not realise that this is a working socket so if others beyond this aren't a wire could be loose inside
