Would I be correct in saying that sockets without shutters are deemed unsafe and should be replaced?

Just to clarify I'm talking about old MK sockets and with the shutter I mean the bit of plastic which stops you putting things in the live terminal of a socket and only opens when the earth pin is inserted.

If there's no shutter there will be exposed live parts & therefore unsafe. They should be replaced and its cheap safety at £2 for a double socket.
