Softwood exterior door ??

Evening wood heads.

Im making an exterior door/front door for my house. I will be painting it so using softwood.....but which one should I use? Redwood, Dougie Fir, Larch....other? What do you think please?

Doug fir is more stable, redwood will have more sapwood making treatment more important (should treat anyway) otherwise much of a muchness .

Red wood is good, although as mentioned does move, but modern protective micro porous stains help here...pinenot
