Can anyone tell me if there are any regulations around the boxing-in of the soil stack? It's located in the kitchen of my middle-floor flat, where I'm planning to do some work.
After taking a peak behind the current wooden casing surrounding the soil pipe I'm thinking about reducing the size of the structure, so as to create more space, which is much needed. It would definitely be possible to reduce the size of the casing without getting too close to the actual pipe, but I'm wondering if there are any rules or regulations I need to be aware of.
Also, it looks to have been given a token acoustic insulation with some type of loft insulation in some places. What would be the best way of insulating the pipe?
Thanks for any info
