hi,
i'm having trouble getting the copper pipe hot enough for the solder to run. I've even cut the pipe about 1m away from the problem joint to make sure there's no water left in the pipe but it's still not working. Even the existing soldeder is not flowing.

Any ideas greatly appreciated!

Have you lit your Blowlamp? propane will freeze the pipe unless you have lit the burner to make a flame!

or alternatively get someone in who knows what he or she is doing

Always heat the fitting not the pipe!

So, you don't need any more s odder anymore! Also, love the way he overheated it and let the s odder drip out.

Anyway, as we all know, a roll of s odder is just so expensive

Back to the op's problem - there's still water in there. Solution - cut the pipe 1m away in the other direction and deal with this problem section well away from the existing pipes
