when soldering new copper do you wire wool the pipe if using power flow flux? also can you put too much solder on?

Well it depends on how much you manage to get inside the fitting!

Why not just the correct amount?

Yes I suppose its possible. But more common you could end up with chunks of loose solder inside the pipes.

Makes a lovely tingling sound in a central heating system!

As a rule of thumb. Use 15mm of solder for a 15mm fitting and 22mm of solder for a 22mm fitting etc etc....

Ps. That's using standard sized solder. Not the posh thin stuff that some in the cc use just to be different:D

if the fitting and the pipe is new and clean then cleaning is not really needed with powerflow but if your new to soldering then its advisable as it will run better.
 
Would the loose solder if there was any. Get removed during the cold/ hot flush of a new central heating system install?
