Hi there - its my first post, so go easy guys...

I have a problem with my kitchen worktops. Generally they are in very good condition (40 mm laminate) but they have a 2-part edging strip applied to them. That is to say that I screwed a moulding to the raw edge of the laminate and then there was a small bead that ran through the middle to cover the screws.

Probably came from a national chain about 15 years ago.

Colour is lacquered mahogany.

The problem I have is that the lacquer and stain have worn thin in places of high traffic revealing a cream colour underneath (I think its MDF).

There is about 8-9 metres and 8 mitred corners!

I'm after some suggestions for either replacing with new of the same type (can't find anywhere) or re-finishing - preferably in situ.

If I can't fix this one it looks like being new worktops, and a 3 x 3M plus fitting, this is not going to be a cheap option, even with laminate.

Any help appreciated.
