I'm going to start painting my new bare wood ogee architraves.

I have sealed all the knots and will prime tomorrow with dulux primer.

I would like a satin white finish and have seen that dulux do satin wood in solvent base and water base.

What are the differences between them? what is the best to use? will the solvent based product yellow over time?

Thanks

Solvent based..

Slower drying

Stronger smell

Will yellow over time if in a dark or warm environment.

You need white spirit to clean the brushes out

Very hard wearing

Easy ish to apply

Water based...........

Doesnt smell much

Doesnt Yellow

Quick drying

Can be harder to apply if you have never used it before

Tends to leave brush marks

Brushes wash out under the tap
