Hello Everybody.

Some keys on my keyboard have stopped working. I had to copy and paste some of the letters in this message. They are: a, z, q on the left and Enter on the numeric pad. any help will be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the keyboard is past it, best bet is to buy a new one.

Hello spark23.
Thanks for your prompt reply. I purchased my Microsoft natural keyboard with my computer October 2004 so it is fairly new. I will buy another one today just to make sure. Can a hacker cause this sort of trouble?

A virus/hacker can cause all sorts of problems which is why it is advisable to have an up to date firewall and virus killer installed.
Just thought as a check (providing it isn't a usb keyboard) you can format a floppy disk as an MSDOS boot disk (My computer, right click floppy drive, left click format, cross create MSDOS startup disk), restart the computer, ensure boot sequence is set to A: before C: in bios setup. Computer should boot and A:/> should display. See if keyboard works now.
