Soot off glass

I have a stove that I burn wood and coal in. It has doors with glass which needs cleaned after a couple of days use and good ideas of things other than strong chemicals to get this black soot off ?

Vinagar and water then dry with news paper.

also rub with newspaper and a bit of paraffin
