Sorry but yet another question about block paving

We have had a quote for a block paved driveway, Has quoted to dig out 250mm and prep for sub base (compact sublayer, add 150mm type 2 tarmac. Is this OK ? He didn't really answer my questions, probably because I am female . I did have one that treated me like that wanted to check with my husband regarding choosing the colours . Trust me he got no further before being asked to leave. Thank you.
