Sound Issue - Hardware or Software?

Give this a go.
Go to manage audio devices in control panel, check if the digital output is there, right click on it and choose "do not use this device"

the digital output is enabled by default that's why there is no sound coming from the analog output possibly????????? :(

Took me a while to find something but this is what I did:

Start

Control Panel

Sound Effect Manager

Click on S/PDIF Out tab

Click "output digital & analog"

Also tried safe mode.

Sorry, WM!

No joy.

Just a thought,,,, Are you sure all the cables etc are plugged in? My dad recently moved house and phoned me up saying he'd lost the sound on his computer when he'd set it up. Went over and had a look and he'd forgotten to plug in the cable going to the speakers on his monitor.

Monkeh

Thank you! You are a star! Everything is now working as it should.

That's definitely worth a couple of pints...
