Hi,

If I am using 10cm x 5cm battens what size acoustic quilt can I use?

Also what distance should the battens be installed if using a 600mm wide acoustic quilt? I guess the fit needs to be quite tight so would that be at 590c centers or something like that?

Many thanks

You don't say what wall you are sound-insulating. If it is a party wall, and you are fixing the battens direct to the wall, you are wasting your time.
Regardless of what quilt you use, to be effective, the plasterboard lining needs to be fixed to resilient bars secured horizontally to the wall. There are other considerations as well when dealing with acoustic insulation.

i will be using resilient bars but i am not sure which screws to use to attach the plasterboard to the bars and which screws to use to attach the bars to the timber.
