Soundproofing works

Soundproofing is a complete waste of time. It doesn't work.

It does work, I soundproofed my study for when the missus has enough of the guitar playing!

I did mine through buying online, you can get companies in that will do a very good job.

The more you pay, the better it will be.

what exactly was it ?
a drum booth in kit form?

20mm thick rubber crumb mat glued to wall, small air gap, and then two layers of plasterboard with overlapping joints attached to light stud wall, which must NOT be attached to the existing wall in any way except at floor and ceiling. Make sure the mat fits very exactly with no gaps at all, similar for plasterboard.
I did a party wall between our lounge and neighbours lounge, seems very effective and cost about £600.
You can find rubber crumb mat on the internet - usually comes in 1 metre square sheets.
Hope this helps.

so sound transmits through ceiling and floor by- passing sports matting and into stud wall and sound also still transmitting through outside walls and all this designed by acoustic engineers, whats the nature of your sound pollution?because this sound like internet snake oil

Well Harbourwoodwork, thanks for informing me so politely that my simple but effective soundproofing doesn't work, obviously my neighbours must have moved out the day the soundproofing was completed and I still haven't realised this is why it's been so quiet since then.
