I want to make some "cottage style" internal doors from tongue & groove softwood. Can anyone advise me on sourcing good quality timber which won't crack, warp or shrink within a few months?

Cottage doors are usually made from flooring quality T and G,a good timber yard may stock joinery quality T,G and V boards, but if you are machining you're own timber ,you could buy joinery quality timber and pick out the nearest you can to quarter sawn and cut the heart out and that will give the most stability

If possible buy the timber a month or more before you need to use it and let it dry in side the house.

Thanks. I haven't got the facilities or skill to machine my own timber, unfortunately!
I might take the coward's way out and buy pre-made. Jeld-wen are quite reasonably priced.

Once you have looked at the quality of the off the shelf doors, you may get re inspired to make your own
Take the measurement of a door you like, buy the components from a good timber yard and put them together it will always be the best way.
