Lidl sourdough is only bread I eat at the moment , it’s excellent . Wife likes M&S sourdough but I think it’s like cardboard.
All supermarket brown sliced bread is poor , I never eat white bread it’s awful .

Why has sourdough bread become all the rage in the past few years? Grown men rave about it.* I was watching an electronics channel on Youtube, and every few minutes the bloke would go 'mmmm sourdough'. I don't like the stuff, it is sour - the clue is in the name.

So why has it suddenly become prevalent? Is there a drug in it that addicts people? Or is there some cynical marketing Svengali behind it? Perhaps the answer lies in the price of it - over £2 a loaf usually.

Allowed foods: Fresh fruits, vegetables, grains, seafood, milk, and eggs.

What’s wrong with that? Don't you eat fresh fruit, vegetables, grains, seafood, milk and eggs?

What brands of bread don't use those ingredients and are classed as non-halal?

Its just a healthier form of bread.

That said it is far more expensive and its not everyone's loaf of bread.

The supermarket stuff isnt that good or the real thing. I dont understand how they can get away with it.

The proper stuff if healthier and I like it if its baked well and as it should be made.

I am not a lover of sourdough bread, we only eat wholemeal bread as white bread is not good for you. The uncut wholemeal tin loaf from Morrisons is lovely, quite moist and also tasty along with being good for you.

The word halal is misunderstood Mottie. It simply means 'allowed' under islam. It doesn't just apply to animal products, but to all foods, as well as clothes, behaviour, money... every aspect of life in fact.

Many products now have the halal symbol (HCA) and it means that the company has made some sort of deal with muslims. The pseudo-official symbol sits alongside our own respectable approval certification symbols. It has no place there. If you buy the product you are contributing, unwittingly, to the gradual islamification of British life. Boycott halal.
