special sink? filtered drain?

Hi all,

Im after a sink that i can tip waste materials in and not block it up. When i say waste i need to clean out buckets that have residue 'floor smoothing compounds' in and trowels.

So that means there will be sand and cement partials.


I have used a sink that can do this before (dont know name hence asking here) that was about the same size as a bath but had shutters that trapped the waste sand ect at the bottom and you cleaned these base out every few weeks.


Can someone point me in the right direction of what i need and where to purchase form please.

However reading about it i need a system to do the opposite as grease floats and sand sinks . So from what i can work out it will still block up the drain.

Could you make something yourself? You could get something like this: http://www.dirtbagsuk.com/dirtbags.html that would fit in a small domestic size tank, and plumb that in to waste after the sink. Put the outlet from the tank halfway up, and further settlement could possibly be achieved in the tank.

Glad to be of service! If they'll handle the output from a 6" pump then a sink waste shouldn't be an issue!
