hi... I am fitting a larger radiator in my conservatory and need to divert the 15mm copper pipework. I am going to cut into the existing pipework ( after I have drained the system ) and need to blank it off until I do some preparation work. I have bought two JG speedfit stop ends. I am not sure if I need to put an insert into the copper pipe before I fit the stop end, my instinct tells me I don't need one only for plastic pipe, but I have read that I need to insert one. can anybody enlighten me

You don't need a sleeve for copper pipe

Inserts... Sleeves... We call them Titanics...
ie: "Liners"

Whatever you wanna call them... Not needed for copper pipe, as said above.

BUT! on chromed copper pipe DON'T use pushfit stopends! Compression stopends only

Edit: unless you abrade the chrome away.
