Never used but thinking I might give it a go.

Normally use SWA but space is tight, and I'm concerned about the bend radius.
What this stuff like to work with?

What is the application? For most everyday work you won't be able to use split con.

Split con has no mechanical protection for many applications, so RCD protection at the origin may be necessary. Same as T&E.

I've seen it used in flats for sub mains, but not much else in a domestic environment.

Yes its a flat sub main.

It will go up through the building in the existing riser.
SWA I think will be a problem

You'll need to check your regs book.

IIRC Split Con is OK for that application, but you cannot use Straight Concentric. Not near my BRB at the moment. Maybe someone can confirm?

Will be copper from a wholesaler.

16mm split concentric is far easier to install than it's SWA and T+E counterparts.

You can terminate it into a fuseboard just as T+E - no glands etc.

At the origin, use a switch fuse or even a KMF type with KMF shroud.

If it is in a riser, 50mm deep or more, then no RCD protection required - But how is it getting to your flats CU? Surface? Trunk? Or from a void behind? The 50mm deep or more counts.....

Its wooden boxing up from the basement
Then into trunking along the stairwell wall, then right angle through the wall into the back of the CU.

This is why I wanted something more flexible and with a lesser bend radius than SWA.
Also SWA termination would be an extra enclosure,
Trying to keep it neat, and as small a foot print.
These are period mansion flats.

Saying that some flats have 10 / 16mm twin and earth just clipped along the walls, but I want to do a neater job.

As long as it's not concealed in a wall or partition then split con will be fine. Can't remember what size the CPC is though. You may need to run in an additional earth with the split con.

I will check out the earthing, but it has to be better than what I have found.

Current supply to the flat is 6mm2 L/N singles.
The earth is a 1.5mm2 single!!!!

Oh and its a 'dual RCD board, and he put his company sticker on it, installed 3 years ago.
