I want to take off a supply to two outdoor LED 12v light circuits from an existing outdoor MK double switched socket on its own MCB circuit. I will have a weatherbox to house the transformers and would like to have a double switch before the supply goes into the box.

Should the spur be 5A fused? The simplest method would be to use the swiched socket but it is not very ergonomic.

Thanks for any info..

Yep, you will need to stick a 5 amp fuse spur inline before the double switch.

Or use a switched FCU.

Remember, the switch and/or FCU will need to be suitably IP rated as well (MK Masterseal units would be good, as they'll give a nice visual match.)

Pay close attention to how you take the spur cable from the socket, as you need to preserve the IP rating.

And don't use unprotected T/E outside.

And remember that this work is notifiable....
