I’m looking into fitting a 150w towel rail in our downstairs Toilet room.
Can you simply spur off Ring main to supply the FCU?

Many thanks

Ok.

You must make sure the socket is on the ring circuit and not already as spur -

although 150W towel rail would not be a problem if it was.

I’ll double check before and work takes place, if that not possible would taking the supply from the washing machine circuit be ok?

Current setup for that supply is
16a Rcbo>2.5mm cable > double socket

Opposed setup if possible
16a Rcbo > 2.5mm2 cable > Double socket > 2.5mm2 cable > FCU

You can take the supply from anywhere.

It's just that there are rules about only one socket on a ring circuit spur.

16A circuits have no such restrictions.
