hi there
In the bathroom I have a heated towel rail that runs off the central heating system but is also fitted with an electrical heating element rated at 150W. This would be used in summer when the CH is switched off. I would like to connect it as a spur from the ring main using a 30A junction box and 2.5mm cable. The heater element would be connected to the supply by way of a fused switched connector unit sited in the bathroom, 850mm from the bath - i.e. well outside zone 2.
Is this the correct way to do it?

TIA
Stu

The generally preferred method is to have a flex outlet in the bathroom, with the heater hardwired into it, and the fused switch outside the bathroom, either in the adjoining room or landing/hallway.

If you are in England or Wales then Part P applies and it is notifiable.
I see your location is London.

Also, You should have a RCD on the towel circuit and possibly need supplementary bonding in the bathroom
