Hi
Could some one tell me how many spurs you are allowed off of a plug socket ring main ?
Also, if I wanted to move a plug socket and keep it in a ring can I just join the cables with two connecting blocks, is this safe ?

Thanks for any advice

You can have one 13A accessory per non-fused spur. You can have as many n-f spurs as there are sockets & stationary equipment connected directly in the circuit.

Extensions to a circuit can be made via terminal blocks as long as:

a: they are rated for the job

b: they are accessible, but not exposed

Alternatively, if you want to conceal a cable joint, it must be crimped, for example.

which reg states that then?

i thought it was one single or double socket ( or accessory ) on each spur..

and a double can take 26A.. ( before we start the whole "doubles are only rated at 13A" thing again, MK Logic Plus is rated at 13A PER SOCKET.. )
