Their records show that C0² back then was about 880ppm, which suited them just fine.
Loads of other ways to find out - keep googling and learning about historical Co2 we can trace it back millions of yearsI am pretty sure they couldn't measure CO2 back then!

Co2 was 280ppm back thenWhen Claudius built hadrians wall he insisted on installing trellis all along the southern side so that they could grow grapes on it.

Been measuring Co2 in the atmosphere since the early 1650s
Aveatry do you believe that crops would grow better if global CO2 levels were higher?been looking for where I said it was good for the planet have you
Go figure - the CO2 levels were les than now and yet the temperature was higherI have now. It says 180-280 ppm in Roman times. Not 880 ppm.

What a surprise, he won’t answerbAveatry do you believe that crops would grow better if global CO2 levels were higher?
Aveatry CO2 is currently around 429ppm do you consider that to be too high?

Roman Warm period anyone ? with lower Co2 than now
Climate alarmists rarely talk about the Roman Warm Period, as they are happy to let sleeping dogs lie.
With no evidence. There are several events like that, such as the Little Ice Age and the Medieval Warm Period. But the explanation given is that these were just regional events caused by things such as temporary changes in sea currents.
