Hi All,

After much hard work removing old paint from my staircase I should be in a position on Monday to start staining with Liberon water based stain in dark oak. Once this has dried, I'll be using Bona lacquer, probably two coats will be needed.

The question I have is, given that the Bona lacquer requires 24-hours before re-coating how can we as a family use the staircase? I was thinking about coating every two steps but there's a small landing where the staircase turns.

In addition, you'll notice from the image below that the staircase has a dark stain where the old runner (not ours!) was so any tips on staining would be greatly appreciated!
