Staining Sapele

Hi have had some sapele hardwood windows installed and would like to stain, can anybody recommend which primer to use to protect against this wet weather.

Ideally just want the to protect the wood but weather pending would like to stain, so want the primer to be transparent and ideally not affect the stain results. A friend recommended sikkens but which one? Solvent or water based?

Cetol BL21 plus?

Also the timber is very moist can you still primer?

Sikens and sadolins are both good products talk to your local trade paint supplier they will have a technical dept ,talk to them they are usually very helpful
