Stainless steel Waste Pipe

I have a stainless steel waste trap and waste pipe for a sink and at some point in the pipe work I will need to attach the SS pipe to a plastic pipe - once through the wall I guess. The SS will be on display of course.

Any ideas about attaching the SS pipe to a plastic pipe - will std fittings suffice?

Once through wall I used a plastic compression fitting, havent had any probs in over a year.
