Hi
I have parquet in the hall, and a 1970's stair carpet that would give an acid head a headache.
The banister was replaced ages ago with a Richard burbidge one, dark wood with white spindles. dark newels, gloss white stringers.
It is the 50's style so that the stairs are boxed in on both sides by the stringers.
There is a round nosed bottom step
I have been thinking of using a kit to clad the riser and treads with something to match the hall floor.
My question is, if I do this, what do you do with the top step?
ie you do the last riser, then presumably if you have carpet on the landing, does this tuck over the step so that you see a line of carpet edge from the front door?
any comments on kits etc welcome. AFAIk there are 13 steps?
