staircase to storage conversion

We live in a Tyneside Victorian flat which doesn't have a lot of space, so we had the loft converted for storage, with carpets, windows, lighting, insulation and a pull-down ladder. We use it on a daily basis as we have wardrobes, a printer etc. up there, but I've fallen off the ladder before as it's quite steep, and it takes up room on the landing having it down all the time. Does anyone know if we can have a staircase fitted without having to take out all the previous work and have a proper conversion? We don't intend to use it as a bedroom. Any advice much appreciated.

How long is a piece of string????????

So many factors to consider with stairs.

You will find it pretty difficult to construct a stair that complies with all the building regs etc. without it seriously eating into your existing floorspace.

There are space saver stairs on the market that might work in your situation google it.
