In doing some alterations to a property I have a situation where having come to the bottom of some stairs on to a small landing, I then wish to create a new door to a lower lever, however this requires a further 3 or 4 steps beyond the new doorway. Having looked at the building regs as far as I can see I would just require a min. 300mm (12") 'going' tread at the other side of the new door, before the new steps commence. Just wondered if someone could confirm that I have interpretted the building regs correctly?
