Hi
We've just moved in to a rented house which has a Stanley Super star 90 oil fired boiler in it. The house is fairly modern and it seems that this boiler is somewhat older. Does anyone have any information reguarding this?
How effecient is this boiler? The plumber who came out carried out an emmision test and said it was running at 84% - is this good? He also said the boiler was 35 years old!
The reason im asking is that it seems to be using an horrendous ammount of oil. We have a i think a 1200 litre tank in the garden and in one week the level dropped around 6cm. (by my reckoning thats 400ish litres a month) We've taken to just turning it on in the evenings now to try and balance this out but now the house is cold
The house is fairly large (4 bedroom bungalow) but we have turned off all the radiators in the rooms we are not using and as such only have 7-8 rads on.
Any information would be much appreciated.
