I have an astra diesel(93) and it runs fine except that after a long run when the engine is really hot the starter is sluggish and wont turn the engine over. If I leave the engine to cool down then it starts ok. I am not blowing out smoke and oil and water is fine. Any ideas?

Sounds like starter fault,check wiring route,not too close to high temperature.if O.K. overhaul or change starter.
