Hi, I’ve had a new central heating system installed which has left me with an airing cupboard to refit as a wardrobe. The airing cupboard had a raised floor which I have stripped out to reveal a steel beam diagonally across the cupboard which I assume was there to support the cylinder and water tanks. My question is, can I now remove this and if so how? One end looks to be unsecured and just propped up on a wooden block but the other like it may be going into the exterior wall shared with a neighbour. I’m happy to pay to have it cut out if necessary but I need to get this done ASAP so I’d prefer not to wait to get a builder in to find it’s not doable. I’ve attached a picture to illustrate the problem. Thank you very much in anticipation of any advice you can offer.
