Steel beams

Hello,

I'm doing some calculations for a member of family for the sizing of 3 beams for a domestic extension. I'm a Structural Engineer but normally work on large commercial and industrial projects rather than domestic. As standard we design for S355 grade steel these days however I was wondering what's more standard for domestic work S355 or S275? I just don't want to specify something their builder might struggle to source.

I've not seen an engineers drawing yet where the grade of steel is specified.
