Hi

I need to buy a new garage door and was originally going to go for a GRP.
Unfortunately, I'm having difficulty finding a front door to match as I want the wood grain effect.
I have now found a steel garage door that will match, but concerned that as it will be south facing it could fade over time and having the wood grain effect, I'm not going to be able to paint it.
Does anyone know if it is likely to fade and how long would this type of door last me. It's got be a made to measure one and is costing quite a lot, so I need to weigh up the pros & cons!

Thanks

I don't know how durable the pattern will be but all coloured products are prone to sun-bleaching to some degree. The only real way to find out is to seek out people who have used this product.

Also, darker materials, whether they be windows, doors, guttering etc, will be prone to greater degrees of expansion and contraction where direct sunlight is concerned.

as like most things over time there will be prone to wear and tear and environmental effects.
But like most things, they can be maintained and refurbished.
You can buy products and with a little know how, reinstate the wood effect on to metal.
